In support of both foreign and domestic flight training, Language Directions offers Aviation English, a competency course specifically designed to teach required English language communication skills to pilot trainees with limited English proficiency. Effective dialogue between pilots and control towers throughout the world depends on clear communication in the international language of aviation (English); accurate pronunciation, and uniform messaging patterns, as well as aviation knowledge. Language Directions instructors are experienced in providing the necessary instruction and support to enable trainees to achieve the level of English speaking skills required by the International Civil Aeronautics Organization.

The NY Times article, English Skills a Concern as Global Aviation Grows, provides a deeper understanding of the need for Aviation English for foreign-born pilots.
