Resolving Cultural Differences

Being unaware of and unable to respect other cultural norms and cues
can lead to failure in multinational communication settings.

Participants learns to identify key areas of cultural differences in your workplace. The business world in the U.S. requires different behaviors and skills than foreign business cultures. Learn to adapt and bridge the gap for better understanding. The class includes typical "Americanisms" such as sports references and common workplace idioms, expressions, acronyms and business jargon which present problems for foreign-born employees.

Areas of focus include

  • Physicality and body language
  • Tonality and terms of address
  • Voice projection, eye contact and volume
  • Language Issues (pronunciation and clarity of communication)
  • Education, economic and religious factors
  • Effective supervision of foreign-born employees
