English as a Second Language (ESL)

Basics of spoken and written English for foreign-born learners. Classes are customized by job-specific reqirements. Content is determined through consultation with employer.

ESL I assumes little or no knowledge of English. Learners are introduced to basic expressions, sounds, sentence structure, and specific work-related vocabulary and dialogue.

ESL II builds on the skills introduced in ESL I. Designed to improve understanding and the ability to communicate more complex thoughts. Increased emphasis on original expression and correct pronunciation.

ESL III focuses on raising written and conversational skills to a higher level of proficiency. Idioms and expressions are also introduced to increase students’ accuracy, fluency, and comfort when speaking English. Role plays and corrected conversation create increasingly greater degree of clarity and comfort.

Private lessons also available for those who value complete individual focus.

Advanced Grammar & Writing
A "bridge-the-gaps" course. A grammar review with concentration on specific questions and issues of common difficulty. Customized to participant needs.

Many advanced learners of American English wish to have access to continuing support following their classes. Some simply need to have reports, memo or correspondence proof-read and edited, or be able to have access to a source for expert English assistance. We can provide this support to enable a smooth transition to confidence and capability in writing American English.

Corrected Conversation:   You've taken a lot of classes and can express yourself in your target language. Facilitated, free-form conversations with individual correction by native speaker will increase your comfort when speaking.
